I managed to balance efficiency and relaxation during my business trip in Longgang
This time, I came to Longgang, Shenzhen for a three-day industry project conference and directly booked my accommodation at The Coli Hotel Shenzhen. Originally, I only intended it to be close to the Dayun Digital Industry Park where the conference was held, but after staying, I realized that it was completely tailored for business travelers as a "worry free ceiling", balancing the efficiency and rare relaxation that business trips need the most perfectly.
For attendees, location is the first necessity. The hotel is located in the core area of Dayun, just an 8-minute walk from Dayun Station on Metro Line 16. I am dragging a boarding box filled with project information, so I don't have to take a detour or bask in the midday sun of Shenzhen. What's even more reassuring is that the three companies attending this conference are all within a 2-kilometer radius, and two of them can be reached within walking distance. The remaining one can take a 10 minute taxi directly, without having to wake up half an hour early to rush to the morning rush hour like in previous business trips. They can sleep for an extra 20 minutes every morning, which is a luxurious happiness for business travelers.
The efficiency of checking in was much higher than I expected. The front desk saw me hanging a conference badge and directly helped me through the fast track. I received my room card in 30 seconds and also handed me a printed business guide: 24-hour photo and text stores, Chaoshan restaurants that can serve business meals, and convenience stores that can buy supplies at night are all clearly marked. Even my casual mention of "needing a room with good lighting that can change the PPT" was directly arranged in the east of the high area.
The room completely meets all the needs of business guests: a 1.4m-wide solid wood desk is facing the french window, and Type-C and USB double quick charging interfaces are reserved on the desk, so I don't need to look for adapters everywhere. I have changed the 3-hour project plan, and the supporting ergonomic chair has a strong sense of support. My waist is not as sore as that of other hotels before. The panoramic view of the city in the High District stretches out the entire skyline of Longgang, and the revised plan is tiring. Looking up at the lights of the Universiade Center in the distance, one's tense nerves can instantly relax. The free mineral water and tea bags in the mini bar were replenished very frequently. I stayed up late to organize my information until 2 o'clock, and the room attendant who passed by even specially brought a cup of freshly ground hot coffee. The details were all perfect.
What surprised me the most was the professionalism of the conference facilities: the hotel's multifunctional conference hall covers a full range of specifications from a small venue for 50 people to a banquet hall for thousands of people. At the 200 person project docking meeting that I participated in, the projection and sound system operated stably throughout the entire process, without any signal lag problems encountered in previous meetings at other hotels. The 24-hour business center is available at any time. Before going to bed, I found that I needed to print 5 additional contract documents, which were processed in just 5 minutes downstairs. Even the thick printing paper for the contract was prepared in advance.
At the end of my three-day trip, I wasn't as tired as usual from business trips and just wanted to catch the high-speed train home. Before checking out, I took a break for half an hour and walked along the Dayun Greenway downstairs of the hotel, enjoying the evening breeze. After staying for two nights, I realized that it perfectly blended the efficiency and relaxation of a business hotel with a vacation feel, completely breaking away from my stereotypical impression of staying in Longgang.
It takes only 8 minutes to walk from Dayun Station on Metro Line 16, without taking a detour or basking in the midday sun of Shenzhen. As soon as you open the hotel door, a faint citrus fragrance wafts through the tall lobby, dispelling most of the heat from the rush. When I checked in, the front desk heard that it was my first time to Longgang, and helped me upgrade the city view room in the high district. It also handed me a small card that marked the surrounding late night canteen, saying, "I'm hungry after changing the plan at night, and I can eat the authentic Chaoshan casserole Congee 10 minutes' walk".
The moment the door was pushed open, it was immediately caught by a sense of openness. The 45 square meter space completely lacked the typical cramped feeling of business hotels. The modern soft furnishings with a light gray tone, combined with warm yellow ambient lights, instantly relaxed the tense feeling of just three hours of meeting in the conference room. The most surprising thing was the french window with no shelter on the whole face. The view of the high area directly laid the city skyline of Longgang in front of us. The stadium of the Universiade Center in the distance was warm at night, and even people walking in the park downstairs could be vaguely seen. The desk is equipped with a full range of fast charging ports, and I continuously modified the two-hour project plan. The accompanying ergonomic chair provides ample support, and the waist does not feel sore at all.
The smoothness in the details exceeded expectations: the softness and hardness of the mattress were just right for someone like me who knows beds all year round. There was no abnormal noise when I turned over at night, and I fell into deep sleep after only a short while when it was touched. The drinks in the mini bar are all free, even two local specialty sparkling water from Shenzhen are prepared. After visiting the Universiade Park, take a sip of ice and the heat will instantly dissipate. The bathroom has been completely dry and wet separated, and 24-hour constant temperature hot water can be opened immediately. The foam of Italian flavor toiletries is dense, and most of the fatigue on the body has been rubbed away after the shower. There is also a movable small edge table next to the soft sofa by the window. At night, leaning on it to brew a cup of Yingde red tea prepared by the hotel, looking out at the city view and traffic, completely forgetting that I was on a business trip.
What surprised me the most was the hotel's amenities: a 25 meter long indoor heated swimming pool with almost no people, swimming two laps and resting by the pool, looking up to see the blue sky and white clouds outside the window; The 24-hour gym is equipped with imported professional equipment, and running for half an hour in front of the city view is much more comfortable than working out in a confined space. I didn't want to go out to search for food at night, so I ordered the Chaoshan cuisine from the hotel's Chinese restaurant and brought it to my room. The freshly made oyster sauce was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and even the taste of Puning bean sauce was authentic.
